How do I make an appointment? Please call our office at (803) 462-4800 to schedule a time for a free consultation to discuss the possibilities at Studio G Aesthetics or a treatment for one of our services. When should I arrive for my appointment? Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment to ensure that you receive your service in its entirety. Late arrivals will limit the time of your service, thus lessening the treatment effectiveness and your experience. Your treatment will end at the scheduled time to accommodate the next guest’s scheduled appointment. The full value of your treatment will apply. What if I arrive late to my appointment? We require a minimum of 24-hours notice for any cancellation to avoid being charged a service fee. The service fee for missing an appointment without cancellation is $50. What type of payments do you accept? We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, verified checks, cash, and valid Studio G Aesthetics gift cards. Are children allowed in the spa? For optimal patient care and safety, children under the age of 16 are not permitted in the spa or in the client rooms unless the child is receiving treatment. Children receiving treatment must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and have a signed consent on file. Does Studio G accept refunds or exchanges? Product returns or exchanges are accepted when accompanied by a receipt within 14 days. A product exchange or spa credit will be made available. No refunds on services. Does Studio G have gift cards avaliable? Gift Cards are available for specific services or for any dollar amount. Gift Cards can be used for services and/or products but are not redeemable for cash. Are cell phones allowed? As a courtesy to our other guests, we ask that you turn off your cell phones. What should I wear? This is a matter of personal preference, and we will never compromise your modesty. You will be given a robe to change into before your treatment(s). During all treatments you will be properly draped for ensured privacy. Under the robe? It’s up to you. Many guests choose to disrobe completely, but others prefer to leave their undergarments on. Therapists will only expose the portion of your body that is being treated at the time. If you are having a treatment for the first time, feel free to ask our spa attendant how you should be dressed. If you're coming in for our SmartLipo treatment it is best to wear loose fitting clothing. It is recommended that you wear a button up rather than a pullover. What if I have special health concerns? Please advise us of any health conditions, allergies, or injuries that could affect your treatments or use of our spa amenities when making your appointment reservation. First time guests will be asked to complete a personal health form prior to receiving any treatments. Communication with service provider is essential for you to receive the most personalized care. All information is confidential. Will I swell or bruise post injection? Every patient is different, so it’s hard to say. Some patients might experience both, but others experience neither. When the swelling or bruising presents varies too, but you will leave the office with post care instructions and how to manage both. For patients new to injections, we suggest to avoid scheduling your treatment immediately prior to an important event where you’ll have your picture taken. It also helps to take anti-inflammatory before or after your treatment. How many units of neuromodulator will I need? We will discuss the amount in detail during your initial consultation, which is always complimentary. Since this product’s popularity has grown, some women in their 20’s start getting injections as a preventative anti-aging approach. They only need 20 units for a noticeable result. Women just starting neuromodulator at age 50 to 60-years-old could need 30-40 units. How often will I need to come in to maintain the results? To get a natural result, we start with a minimal amount to see results within two weeks. If more is needed, she administers more at the follow up visit. In general, nueromodulators (like Botox®) are done every three to four months. Fillers, depending on the type you use, can last from four months to two years. The more regular you are with your maintenance, the less units or vials you will need on each visit. We have a BOTOX® and XEOMIN® membership avaliable. For more information click HERE. How much filler should I plan on purchasing? Filler is purchased by the syringe and the used amount depends on the area and patients age. For example, if you’re in you 20s, you might only need half of a syringe for cheek fillers. In your 30s you might need a full syringe, and if you’re in your 60s, three to four syringes. We will discuss the area you want treated and approximately how many syringes you might need at your initial complimentary consult. What is Ultherapy®? Ultherapy® is the only non-invasive treatment cleared by the FDA for lifting the skin on the neck, chin, and brow, and improving lines and wrinkles on the décolletage. Ultherapy® uses microfocused ultrasound to lift and tighten loose skin over time, without any downtime. For more information on Ultherapy® click HERE. How do I know if Ultherapy® is right for me? A good candidate for Ultherapy® is someone with some degree of laxity, to the point of looking, and often feeling, less firm. Loose skin under the neck and under the chin, or lines and wrinkles on the chest, are signals a patient might be a candidate. Typically, those in their 30s and older who have mild to moderate skin laxity are candidates. While Ultherapy® is not a replacement for a surgical facelift, there are many people who want some facial lifting but are not ready for surgery, whether mentally, physically or financially. There also are younger people who want to "stay ahead of the game," as well as patients wanting an aesthetic maintenance option. What are the side effects of Ultherapy®? There may be slight redness that typically resolves within a few hours following the treatment. Some patients may have slight swelling, tingling or tenderness to the touch, but these are mild and temporary in nature. What does the Ultherapy® treatment feel like? As the ultrasound energy is delivered, you may feel tiny amounts of energy being deposited to precise depths, stimulating the collagen-building process. Comfort levels vary from person to person, but the sensation only lasts while the ultrasound energy is being delivered. How does Ultherapy® differ from other laser treatments? Ultherapy® uses sound energy — tried-and-true ultrasound — which has unique properties that allow it to bypass the surface of the skin to treat depths not matched by any other non-invasive cosmetic device. Ultherapy® ultrasound stimulates collagen production in the skin’s foundation, resulting in a clinically significant lift of tissue over two to three months. Some lasers rely on light energy, which cannot reach deeper skin layers. Typically, laser treatments also only treat superficial skin and are not FDA-cleared to lift skin. What is Smartlipo®? Smartlipo® is a medical device designed exclusively to perform laser-assisted lipolysis, commonly referred to as laser liposuction. A very thin tube containing the Smartlipo® laser fiber is inserted in targeted fatty areas through a small incision. The laser fiber delivers thermal energy directly to fat cells and disrupts the fatty tissue for easy removal. The laser literally melts the fat, which is removed with gentle suction. At the same time, tissue arohttps://youtu.be/4meDcOLeWSsund the area tightens through coagulation, contributing to a smoother shape overall. For more information on Smartlipo® click HERE. How do I know if Smartlipo® is right for me? The best candidates for Smartlipo® are women and men who are not significantly overweight but have accumulated fat deposits such as love handles, flabby upper arms, excess neck or facial fat, or fat on the lower torso. A consultation with a Smartlipo® physician can provide you with the best information. What does the Smartlipo® treatment feel like? Because the area is anesthetized, there is minimal discomfort during the procedure. You may feel a light pressure but it is a mild sensation. Following Smartlipo®, you may experience some aches, much like after a physical workout. A compression garment may be worn for a short period after treatment, depending on the body area treated and the recommendation of your physician. How long do Smartlipo® results last? Smartlipo® permanently destroys fat cells in the treated area. However, it is important to maintain a healthy diet and exercise regimen to enjoy long-lasting results. What is the recovery time for Smartlipo®? Smartlipo® is a minimally invasive procedure which usually requires only local anesthesia. Some light bruising can occur, but you’ll be able to return to normal activities within a day or two. What is SculpSure®? SculpSure® body contouring is a is a non-invasive treatment for the reduction of stubborn fat. Each 25 minute treatment can destroy up to 24%1 of treated fat cells without surgery. For more information on SclupSure® click HERE. How do I know if SuclpSure® is right for me? SculpSure® treatments are ideal for people with trouble spots, particularly those that seem resistant to diet and exercise. What does the SculpSure® treatment feel like? Most patients feel deep warmth and tingling sensations intermittently throughout the treatment, which is generally well-tolerated. How long will the results of SculpSure® last? Treated fat cells are eliminated during a treatment and will not regenerate. SculpSure® is an excellent complement to a healthy lifestyle. Optimal benefits are best achieved in combination with diet and exercise. When will I see the results of SculpSure®? Patients may start to see results as early as 6 weeks following treatment as the body begins to eliminate the destroyed fat cells, with optimal results usually seen at 12 weeks. What is microblading? Microblading is a procedure categorized under permanent makeup, but unlike traditional cosmetic tattooing, it is less invasive and is considered semi permanent. Microblading typically lasts 1-3 years, depending on skin type and skincare routine. The procedure is done by using a hand tool with ultra fine needles and each 'hair' is gently etched into the skin, giving an incredibly natural and realistic look. Microblading can dramatically correct or fully reconstruct lost eyebrow and is excellent for those wanting to enhance their brows or who have little to no eyebrows, thinning brows from age or over tweezed brows. Pigments used are chosen to match the natural or desired brow color and skin tone will also be taken into consideration. How long does microblading take? For the first Microblading session, the entire procedure should take about 2.5-3 hours. During this session, the brow technician will shape and style the client’s brows for client approval. We then follow with pigment color selection. Once the client is satisfied with the choices, we begin the procedure. The client is to come in for a follow up visit in order to have any minor necessary touch ups. The second Microblading session takes place after 4-6 weeks after the initial session. This session will take approximately 1-2 hours to complete. What is the healing process for microblading? The eyebrow area will be slightly red after the procedure and color will appear very dark. This is normal for the procedure and part of the healing process. The color will fade by up to 40% as it heals. In the following days, the eyebrows will continue to be dark and you will notice slight scabbing. Do not pick at the scabs as this may damage the skin and the outcome of the microbladed area. The eyebrows will lighten up in color as it heals. No down time is required after microblading procedure. It takes approximately 7-14 days for the brows to heal over, and about 1 month for the color to fully set in. You'll notice the color is very light right after the two weeks after healing; the skin will have an opaque milky looking quality to it. This is known as the milk skin and is common in tattooing. This is due to the the tissue still healing from the inside out even though the surface of the skin is healed. True color will reveal itself once healed. Is the touch-up session necessary for microblading? Yes! A touch up session after 4-6 weeks is necessary as everyone heals differently and outcome will vary. Certain areas may not pick up during first session and will need to be refilled. Pigment color may need to be adjusted, brow thickness and more strokes can be added. Individuals with oily skin often require a deeper shade during the touch up session as the oils tend to lighten the pigment. Most importantly, your touch up session is when we refine your brows to ensure it looks perfect and retains the color! Is microblading painful? The pain level for the procedure is considered mild to none. Prior to the procedure your brow technician will apply a topical anesthetic to numb the area. Everyone responds differently to anesthetic; depending on the client, the feeling of the procedure has been described as light cat scratches to not feeling anything. Topical anesthetics used may contain lidocaine, prilocaine, benzocaine, tetracaine and epinephrine. After the procedure, redness and slight swelling in the area is normal. Clients describe the area feeling similar to a light sunburn. Clients can take Tylenol but not aspirin or ibuprofen. How long does microblading last? Since microblading pigments are not implanted into the skin as deep as traditional tattoos, the area will naturally fade overtime. Microblading typically lasts 1-3 years, depending on skin type (normal, oily, dry), age (youthful/mature). Skincare routine will also affect the lasting effect of the pigment: patients who tan or use products with AHA or Glycolic Acid with fade faster as your skin will resurface faster. Each individual's color retention within the skin will vary. To maintain the brows looking fresh, a touch up is suggested every 12-18 months. Clients can let the microbladed area fade over time, but please note a slight shadow may remain. What is permanent makeup? Permanent makeup is cosmetic tattooing. The specialized techniques used for permanent cosmetics are often referred to as “micropigmentation”, “micropigment implantation” or “dermagraphics”. The cosmetic implantation technique deposits colored pigment into the upper reticular layer of the dermis. How are permanent makeup procedures performed? Permanent cosmetics procedures are performed using various devices, including the traditional tattoo coil machines, the pen or rotary machine (includes the digital rotary machines) and the non-machine or hand device. The process includes a consultation, the application of pigment, and at least one or more follow up visits for evaluating the healed design work and color of the pigment. How long does the permanent makeup procedure last? The initial procedure will generally take approximately two to three hours; there are records to establish; photographs to take; desired design and color to discuss; the procedure to perform; and the aftercare requirements to discuss. Follow up or color refresher procedures usually do not require the same amount of time. Is permanent makeup painful? Most people experience some discomfort. This will vary according to each individual’s pain threshold. There are different methods available to help with discomfort management, including various topical anesthetics that are specifically developed for our industry. Your permanent cosmetic professional should discuss these methods with you to determine which one is appropriate. Do I need to have my permanent makeup touched up? Often the tattooed color is not perfect after the initial procedure heals. Permanent cosmetic procedures are a process and at least one follow-up to the initial procedure should be scheduled. It is recommended that any required detail work to the original procedure be performed no sooner than four weeks after the original procedure. The minimum standard for follow-up detail work for lip procedures is six weeks. Lips have a different healing agenda than procedures performed on other parts of the face due to their delicate nature. The cited time frames will vary depending on the health profile and age of the client, but these are good minimum standards for consideration. How often should I get a facial? Once monthly facials are recommended to help aid in the cell turn over process which happens approximatly every 30 days. As we age, this cell turn over process slows down, contributing to dull sallow looking skin, fine lines, wrinkles, blackheads, congestion, and coursely textured skin. Monthly facials assist your body in doing more efficently what it is ”supposed” to do on its own. What should I expect during a facial treatment? Most facials consist of a double cleanse with steam, exfoliation, extractions with a skin analysis, facial and upper body massage, facial mask, and hydration. Depending on the facial and your skincare history, the exfoliation performed will vary. Different facial “add-ons” can be added to your treatment for a small additional fee. All facials are uniquely customized to target your specific skincare needs. Will my skin be red or irriated after my facial? Slight redness is normal after a facial, esspecially if you’ve recieved any sort of chemcial exfoliant such as a Glycolic or a Alpha Hydroxy Acid, or received a large amount of extractions. Slight irritation may be experienced during these instances, however it should not continue after your facial treatment has been completed. Certain skin types, including those who tend to be more sensitive, may be prone to experiencing more redness post treatment. How can I maintain professional skincare results at home on a daily basis? PCA Skincare offers a wide range of exceptional at home skincare products available for purchase. PCA products are avaliable for purchase at Studio G Aesthetics. Can I receive a facial waxing on the same day as my facial? Yes! Waxing is always done first, prior to your facial, for the upmost comfort and safety of your skin. Any areas waxed will be carefully avoided duing your facial exfoliation so as not to further irritate the skin. Can men get facials too? Absolutly! Facials are very benificial for men too, and can help reduce skin sensitivity from shaving as well as other concerns from lack of proper at home skincare. If you do suffer from sensitivity after shaving, it is recommended that you do not shave immediatley before your facial, as this can lead to further irritation. What is laser hair removal? Laser hair removal is a quick, outpatient procedure in which uses powerful laser energy to prevent hair growth. It works by emitting a laser that passes harmlessly through the patient’s skin and into the hair follicle. The targeted hair follicle is then heated and damaged, thereby inhibiting any future hair growth. What are the risks of laser hair removal? The most common risks associated with laser hair removal are skin irritation and minor pigment changes. In rare cases, some patients may experience blisters or scarring. How can I prepare for laser hair removal? To prepare for laser hair removal, we recommended that you discontinue waxing, plucking, and use of any depilatory cream four to five weeks before your treatment. About 24 hours prior to your treatment, we recommend that you shave the treatment area of all existing hair. By shaving, you’re reducing the amount of discomfort you may feel during the procedure and preventing your hair and skin from being burned by the laser. What can I expect during a laser hair removal treatment? A laser hair removal treatment is usually very short. It can last anywhere from a few minutes to an hour depending on the target area. Before the procedure begins, your physician may apply an anesthetic cream to your skin, or recommend a mild pain reliever such as acetaminophen (Tylenol®) prior to the treatment to reduce any discomfort you may experience. What is the recovery time for laser hair removal? After the procedure has been completed, your skin may appear red or irritated. Luckily, this lasts only a day or so. It’s also extremely important to avoid the sun or use sunblock for a few weeks after the procedure, and avoid any plucking or waxing of the treatment area. What can I expect after laser hair removal? Immediately after the treatment you can apply cold compresses to the area to help alleviate any discomfort. Within a few weeks after the procedure, most patients may notice some new hair growth from the treated hair follicles that were inactive at the time. Because of this, most patients should expect to undergo multiple treatments. The overall results of each treatment rely greatly on an individual’s skin tone, hair type, and growth phase of the hair within the treatment area. Laser hair removal may not prevent hair from growing completely, but after multiple treatments, it can significantly reduce the amount of unwanted growth. What are Studio G Memberships? • Ultherapy | Studio G Aesthetics

Ultherapy ® Ultherapy® uses safe, time-tested ultrasound energy to lift and tighten the skin naturally—without surgery or downtime. What is Ultherapy®? Ultherapy® is the only non-invasive procedure FDA-cleared to lift skin on the neck, under the chin and on the eyebrow. Now also FDA-cleared to improve the appearance of lines and wrinkles on the décolletage, Ultherapy® can help you achieve a fresher, more youthful look from your brow to your chest! Ultherapy® relies on ultrasound therapy to deliver its collagen-boosting treatment. It also incorporates traditional ultrasound imaging, which allows practitioners to see the layers of tissue they are treating, ensuring the treatment energy is delivered to where it will be most beneficial. The Ultherapy® procedure stimulates collagen production by delivering focused ultrasound energy to the skin’s foundational layer typically addressed in cosmetic surgery—without cutting or disrupting the surface of the skin. Unlike lasers, radio frequency, surgery and other technologies, non-surgical Ultherapy® bypasses the surface of the skin to deliver the right amount of ultrasound energy at the right depths and the right temperature. This energy triggers a natural response under the skin, jumpstarting the regenerative process that produces fresh, new collagen. Some patients see an initial effect right after their treatment, but the real results appear over 2−3 months as new collagen works to lift and tighten skin on the neck, chin and brow as well as smooth skin on the chest. While Ultherapy® won’t duplicate the results of a facelift, it’s a clinically proven non-invasive alternative for those not ready for surgery—and can even be an option for patients who wish to extend the effects of cosmetic surgery. • SmartLipo | Body Contouring Liposuction in Columbia SC | Studio G Aesthetics

Smartlipo ® ABOUT LIPOSUCTION Liposuction is a procedure that can sculpt the body by removing unwanted fat from specific areas, including the abdomen, hips, buttocks, thighs, knees, upper arms, chin and neck. Localized deposits of fat are removed to re-contour one or more areas of the body. Through a tiny incision, a narrow tube or cannula is inserted to vacuum the fat layer that lies beneath the skin. The cannula is pushed and pulled through the fat layer, breaking up the fat cells and suctioning them out. The suction action is provided by a vacuum pump. This basic technique of liposuction is used in all patients. However, as liposuction has been developed and refined, variations have been introduced. Individuals considering liposuction may feel overwhelmed by the number of options and techniques being promoted. Dr. Griggs has been trained and certified in liposuction techniques, and is familiar with the many options available. He can help you decide which is the right approach for you, taking into account safety and appropriateness for your needs. Smartlipo® laser body contouring is a minimally invasive, laser-assisted lipolysis procedure that targets trouble spots like the abdomen, arms, buttocks, thighs, and neck, and permanently eliminates fat. So if your problem areas won’t respond to exercise and diet, Smartlipo® provides dramatic improvements with greater results, minimal downtime, and less pain than traditional liposuction. Smartlipo® uses local tumescent anesthesia to numb only a specific area of the body being treated so you’re awake during the procedure The Smartlipo® laser fiber is inserted through a very small tube into your body, the laser ruptures the fat cell membranes and the fat cells are permanently destroyed The liquefied fat is gently suctioned out. • Xeomin | Studio G Aesthetics

WHAT IS XEOMIN®? XEOMIN® (incobotulinumtoxinA) is a prescription medication injected into muscles and used to temporarily improve the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines) in adults. XEOMIN® contains botulinum toxin type A, a protein purified from the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. HOW DOES XEOMIN® WORK? When you squint or frown, the muscles between your eyebrows contract, causing the skin to furrow and fold. Over time, as your skin ages and loses some of its elasticity, these repeated contractions can cause persistent frown lines. Botulinum toxin type A – the active ingredient in XEOMIN®– acts on nerve endings in muscles to prevent muscle fibers from contracting. By reducing these contractions, XEOMIN® can temporarily reduce the lines between your eyebrows. IS XEOMIN® PROVEN? XEOMIN® was proven effective in two randomized, double-blind, multicenter, placebo-controlled clinical trials of 547 healthy, adult patients. The average age of patients in the study was 46 years. Patients received 20 Units of XEOMIN® and were classified as responders if they had a 2-grade improvement on a 4-point scale as assessed by the physician and patient. Using these criteria, treatment success was higher with XEOMIN® than placebo on Day 30 in both studies (60% and 48% vs. 0% for placebo in both studies). Based on these trials, XEOMIN® received FDA approval for use in glabellar lines in 2011. HOW DO I KNOW IF XEOMIN® IS RIGHT FOR ME? If you are an adult with moderate to severe glabellar lines, XEOMIN® may be right for you. Do not use XEOMIN® if you are allergic to botulinum toxin or any of the other ingredients in XEOMIN®. You should also not use XEOMIN® if you have had an allergic reaction to any other botulinum toxin product or have a skin infection at the planned injection site. WHAT SHOULD I TELL MY DOCTOR BEFORE TREATMENT? Before receiving treatment with XEOMIN®, you should tell your doctor about all of your medical conditions, including whether you have a disease that affects your muscles and nerves, have allergies to any botulinum toxin product, or have experienced any side effect from any other botulinum toxin in the past. In addition, tell your doctor about your medical history and all the medicines you take, including prescription and nonprescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements. Especially tell your doctor if you have received any other botulinum toxin product in the last four months or in the past. Be sure your doctor knows exactly which product(s) you received and when you received them. WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING TREATMENT? During treatment, which usually takes about 10-20 minutes, your doctor will inject XEOMIN® into the muscles in your forehead that cause frown lines between your eyebrows. No anesthesia is required; however, your physician may use a topical anesthetic or cold pack to reduce any discomfort. WHEN CAN I EXPECT TO SEE RESULTS? You may begin to see visible smoothing as early as 3-4 days after injection. The median first onset of effect was less than a week. The maximum effect occurred at 30 days. The typical duration of effect was up to 3 months in clinical trials but may last significantly longer or shorter in individual patients. ARE YOU CONCERNED ABOUT LOOKING PLASTIC OR OVERDONE? Looking plastic or overdone is a common concern among individuals considering an in-office treatment for moderate to severe frown lines. There are steps you can take to make you feel more comfortable. First, have a detailed discussion with your provider. You want to talk through every concern you have, until you feel comfortable. Your provider, who is experienced in facial anatomy, can determine the right options for you. For example, the most widely used procedure for moderate to severe frown lines is neurotoxin injections, a class of prescription medication that has been shown to be effective in many studies. Finally, ask for an FDA-approved product, such as XEOMIN®.

  • PRP Facial | Studio G Aesthetics

PRP Facial PRP Facial The process of a platelet-rich plasma facial begins with a technician drawing whole blood and using a centrifuge to separate out the red blood cells. The remaining platelet-rich plasma is what’s used in the facial process. The natural chemicals in your own PRP are put onto your face and then micro-needled into the skin during a short procedure. Once the plasma is in your skin, it begins to rejuvenate the face, tighten wrinkled areas, and smooth the skin. Benefits of the PRP facial include: increased collagen production, reduced fine lines and wrinkles, tighter and firmer skin, improved moisture retention, and enhanced skin tone and texture. A local anesthetic will be applied to the skin in order to reduce discomfort.

  • BOTOX in Columbia, SC | Learn about Botox | Studio G Aesthetics MedSpa

BOTOX® Cosmetic has quickly become one of the most popular non-surgical cosmetic enhancement procedures in the world. This quick, in-office treatment can give you a more youthful, refreshed appearance by smoothing out signs of wrinkles and fine lines in specific areas along the face. With personalized treatment plans from our skilled and experienced team at Studio G Aesthetics, our attention to detail helps to prevent “frozen” features. We pride ourselves on providing patients with natural-looking results that address their unique and individual concerns. COMMON QUESTIONS Although BOTOX® Cosmetic is an extremely popular treatment, there are a lot of questions that new patients have about the injections. Here are a few of the most frequently asked questions. If would like more information, please do not hesitate to contact us today. We are always happy to answer questions, and can help you schedule a consultation to discuss your options. WHAT DOES BOTOX® COSMETIC TREAT? Some of the most commonly treated areas are mild to moderate fine lines on the face, such as: · Crow’s feet · Forehead lines · Laugh lines · Frown lines · “Bunny” lines · Chin dimpling During your consultation, we will discuss your goals and help you determine if you are an eligible candidate for BOTOX® Cosmetic. HOW LONG DO RESULTS LAST? Results can vary from person to person, but on average BOTOX® Injections can provide facial rejuvenation results that last three to four months. After the effects begin to fade, follow-up treatment can maintain results. In fact, some patients have noticed results tend to last longer after each repeat visit. WHEN WILL I SEE RESULTS? Optimal results from facial rejuvenation with BOTOX® Cosmetic should be seen within approximately seven days after treatment. WHAT IS THE TREATMENT LIKE? Treatment is typically fairly brief – approximately ten minutes, depending on the number of treatment areas. BOTOX® Cosmetic, which is a prescription medication (onabotulinumtoxinA) is carefully injected using a fine needle. According to your treatment plan, injections will be made in desired areas to temporarily prevent underlying facial muscles in the target areas from contracting (it is this muscle contraction that creates the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines). WILL THE INJECTIONS HURT? Our team always does their best to put your comfort first. The needle used for the injections is very fine, and we can use a topical numbing agent prior to the procedure to help minimize any pain at the injection sites. DO THE INJECTIONS CAUSE BRUISING? During the week before you have BOTOX® Injections, we recommend avoiding any blood thinners, such as aspirin, ibuprofen, as well as vitamin E supplements or fish oil. These medications can all lead to increased bruising and bleeding at the injection sites. HOW LONG IS THE RECOVERY PERIOD? There is usually no recovery period needed after BOTOX® Cosmetic injections. Most patients are able to return to their daily activities immediately after treatment has been completed. There can be redness, swelling or bruising on occasion, but these side effects are minimal and should fade quickly.
