Meet The Team R. Kevin Griggs, MD Dr. Griggs is a native of South Carolina, born and raised in Cheraw. He attended Francis Marion University earning a bachelor's degree in biology and chemistry before moving to Columbia to attend the university of South Carolina School of Medicine. During medical school he earned his pilot's license, worked as a paramedic with Richland County EMS, and was voted president of his graduating class. After matriculation at USCSOM, he performed his residency at Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital becoming board certified in Family Medicine. Dr. Griggs is a master injector and has over a decade of experience in all aspects of the medical aesthetics field. Each member of our medical staff is rigorously trained under his expert guidance to ensure the highest quality care. With a friendly and patient bedside manner, Dr. Griggs has built lasting relationships with his patients, who return year after year for exceptional service and results. Her experience in the beauty industry coupled with her medical knowledge has led her to enter the aesthetics field. She is committeed to staying at the forefront of the industry with the newest techniques and innovations. Mei has pursued training with companies such as Merz Aesthetics, to advance her education and be able to provide exceptional care and outcomes. When not at work, you can find her doing anything artsy or creative or trying out a new restaurant. She was a professional dancer during childhood and still loves to dance to this day. Spasmodic Dysphonia Treatment with Botox ® Studio G is proud to say that we are one of the few clinics that offers Botox® treatment for spasmodic dysphonia in South Carolina. Spasmodic Dysphonia is a type of neurological disorder that affects the muscles of the larynx. The sound in your voice is created by vibrations that occur as air is pushed across your vocal cords. In people with SD, the muscles of the larynx contract and spasm involuntarily causing the person’s voice to break or sound strained. Botox can be used to minimize the symptoms when injected into the larynx. During the procedure, the doctor will inject a small amount of botox into the skin of the neck directly into the muscles of the larynx that are affected by the disorder. Botox limits the release of neurotransmitters that cause these muscles to spasm.
